Hollow City and Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs

Some of you may remember me posting about Miss Peregrine during our winter challenge. These 2 books complete the trilogy.

Overall, I enjoyed them though it definitely got tedious at times. The writer just kept adding characters and adding more obscure “abilities”.

I mentioned in my last review that the author collects vintage pictures and all the pictures in the book are from his actual collection. I think he just got too wrapped up in creating backstories for all his photos and stopped focusing on the characters he created in the first book.

As a series, I would give it 4/5 but individually, it would be 5/5, 4/5 and 3/5.

  1. That’s interesting about his photography ! I love that though I would find it tremendously difficult to stay on task and it sounds like he got a little in over his head!

    1. I was intrigued by the review last Winter so I read the first book. i absolutely love the concept of using the old photos, but, for me, the novel did not quite live up to the potential contained in a very creative idea. I have only read the first book, and I watched the film which was fun.
