By I just finished reading Steinbeck’s The Wayward Bus. It was 200pg and a quick and light read relative to his other works. In a nutshell, he drives a bus in California for travelers to San Juan from his deli in San Ysidro. He’s got a wife, Alice, who runs the lunchroom. The bus breaksdown, causing quite the situation with passengers- they stay the night in his home, but the magic of this book is really in the bus ride…
