Girls Like Us

A biography of three great female artists: Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Carly Simon.   Sheila Weller charts their journey through their lives in the the late 60’s as the three were coming of age and enduring the growing pains as artist, lover, mother and friend.

“Girls Like Us is an epic treatment of mid-century women who dared to break tradition and become what none had been before them—confessors in song, rock superstars, and adventurers of heart and soul.”

I picked up this audio book at a garage sale as a means to entertain myself while driving to and from work.  Surprisingly enough I found myself listening to it at home as well.

A good read/listen.
