This week in ModPo we are studying the Beats and I called into the webcast earlier this week to add to the noise. In preparing for Meraki Radio this week, I was planning on reading poetry from the Sept and Oct POETRY magazines– in fact, I’ve been dragging these periodicals to the studio for the last 3 weeks I think– but have not yet managed to bring them to life through the mic. Allen Ginsberg got the better of me and I read HOWL on the air this morning with two guests– Deema Tamimi, Co-Founder of Land & Ladle as well as Francis Resta, a resident Meraki Radio guest who is a 94 year old WWII veteran. Please enjoy– here is a link to this morning’s show: LINK
Thank you, borkali, for this gift of Howl, this rollicking ride of a poem, searing and heartbreaking, brutal and tender…
