Agreed, JNaz. This surely must be the best (by far) Poets Respond poem Rattle Magazine has published. When I read it this morning, I was stunned & am stunned still. Every stanza has at least one stunner, for instance, a line break such as this “…when the white / man trying to enter me / in a database…” I mean, it makes my eyes water.
I thought the poem was extremely powerful. It’s emotionally hard to read and intellectually challenging for me, but it is a poem well worth reading and rereading….
