Binary Star by Sarah Gerard (Book #6)

This book was both novel and poem combined. It is a story about a girl with anorexia and her struggles with being a human being in general and being in a bad relationship with a guy named John. This book came to me through a Tumblr post, which wasn’t really an accurate portrayal of the book. I am pretty sure this is the first novel Gerard has written. It is a little redundant and overly – dare I say – hipster in some ways, but there were parts of it that I enjoyed thinking about. The title comes from the protagonist’s area of study, astronomy. There’s a lot of weaving of information about space into the character development, which was pretty cool.

Overall rating: 3/5 An interesting concept for a book (poetry prose) but not executed extremely well
