My first job was at a lil bagel shop called Bakin’ Bagels in Maywood, NJ. I worked there for many years. Made myself some nostalgia bagels this morning. They aren’t the prettiest but hey they taste legit! You gotta boil your dough, people.

My overly honest big brother said “they look meh” … so, ya know, expectations.
I’m adding these into our neighborly Christmas baskets so I’m working on my technique!

And I say, if I want a bagel that is perfectly round and looks like it was made by a machine, I will get one at the grocery deli or local bagel shop. If I want one that looks like it was made by hand with love and curiosity, I will get one from borkali. ❤
